Sundaymorning @ ekwc

Original Spode Factory Site
30 September - 13 November 2011
10am - 5pm Tuesday - Saturday, 12 - 5pm Sunday. Closed Monday.

Sundaymorning@ekwc is an internationally renowned workspace in The Netherlands where artists, designers and architects can explore the technical and artistic possibilities of ceramics.  A key ethos of the centre is that it functions as a creative laboratory to stimulate experimentation in both the approach and presentation of ceramics.  Its unique environment for cultural exchange and the blending of artistic disciplines has significantly contributed to the development of the ceramic field internationally.

This exhibition represents a diverse selection of work conceived and produced at the centre, ranging from product design, sculptural and architectural ceramics to video.  Some of the works presented provide a unique insight into open-minded research into a material which for many of the centre's participants was unfamiliar territory, alongside the works of esteemed artists Tony Cragg, Betty Woodman and Tony Hepburn.  Sundaymorning@ekwc has been cited as a model for future developments for a UK Ceramics Centre in Stoke-on-Trent.

Admission is free.
