Ieuan Ellis

Ieuan joined the Executive Team of Staffordshire University in January 2017 as Pro Vice-Chancellor for Partnerships and Region.

After an initial clinical career as a chartered physiotherapist, Ieuan has an academic career spanning more than 30 years, holding senior academic leadership positions at three universities. Prior to joining Staffordshire, Ieuan was Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean for Health and Social Sciences at Leeds Beckett University. He has provided senior leadership for the Leeds Academic Health Partnership – a city-regional collaboration between 3 universities, 6 NHS organisations and Leeds City Council.

A Professor in Healthcare Education, Ieuan has expertise in policy developments in healthcare and Higher Education, including employer engagement, work-related learning and continuing professional development. Ieuan is a current member of the UK Health Education Advisory Committee (HEAC), former Chair of the UK Council of Deans of Health (2011–2014) and former chair of the Allied Health Professional National Advisory Board to the Department of Health (2010-2013). He has experience working at Board level at two Universities, as a Non-Executive Director of an NHS Community Healthcare Trust, and as a Trustee of the Clay Foundation, a registered charity which delivers the British Ceramics Biennial.
