Chi Onwordi is an artist specialising in clay, with a background in 3D Design. She received a Craft (BA) and Ceramics (MA) from the University of Staffordshire.
Born to Scottish-Nigerian parents and raised in London, Chi’s multicultural upbringing strongly influences their artistic practice. Navigating diverse cultural experiences has led Chi to explore the differences and similarities between environments and identities.
Through clay and other materials, Chi examines the dynamic relationship between the natural world and the manufactured. Their work is an expression of how these elements coexist, clash and evolve. A material-led reflection on place, culture and the human connection to the environments we shape and are shaped by.
