The Lodge is a project space where festival visitors are invited to reflect, record and share their views, perspectives and responses. Located in curious spaces, there are writing nooks, test workshops, listening stations, and viewing points for film commissions ‘Over Site’ and ‘In Site’, where audiences interact, create and share with others. As a test bed for audience engagement the Lodge will take place in four evolving iterations as part of the expanded BCB programme.

In the lodge you’ll find:

A writing and reading nook which displays intriguing pieces of material to read including unique archive materials and insight into the artwork and the history of the site. The writing space offers visitors the chance to reflect and record their experience with the artwork and site using questions and view finders displayed in the Lodge. This space proudly displays drawings, quotes and comments from visitors.

A space where visitors can to tell us more about their experience using a tablet displayed at each site.

A series of insightful commissioned film works that will be displayed at each Lodge giving visitors a unique perspective into the work that has taken place in the projects across Stoke-on-Trent. See films works including Oversite by Johnny Magee and Under the Skin film works created by Kieran Hanson, Sophie Mahon, Ingrid Murphy, Joanna Roy and a unique 360 view the Spode mould store.

The Lodge project space will host a series of workshops, events and drop-in sessions through the festival period which activate the site, connect with the projects and artwork commissioned throughout Stoke-on-Trent and seeking to deepen the visitors experience.

When you clock in at each of the four Lodge project spaces you’ll be in with the chance of winning a unique commemorative BCB Mug!
