BCB 2025 Teacher CPD Session
Join us for a Teacher CPD session offering hands-on exploration of sustainability, creativity and community co-creation.
About the BCB 2025 Teacher CPD Session
It will take inspiration from the success of Tactile Project Space, the hands-on project space for the 2023 British Ceramics Biennial. The Tactile Project Space saw over 3,000 people create clay tiles from construction spoil clay, wildflower seeds and other natural components, which were laid as a new wildflower meadow in Stoke-on-Trent.
For the 2025 Teacher CPD, teachers will take part in the Playscape Project Space – a collaborative workshop environment where participants engage in the principles of rammed earth – an environmentally sustainable building process that creates strong formwork for construction from highly compressed clay and aggregates.
The CPD session emphasises how environmental learning can be integrated through art, play and collective action.
What to expect:
-
Build a collaborative miniature environment using rammed earth methods
-
Learn how sustainability, creativity, and play can support environmental education
-
Get an inside look at Playscape: an interactive rammed earth artwork – a major new artwork for BCB 2025
-
Join a guided tour of the 2025 British Ceramics Biennial
Designed for:
Teachers planning a group visit and looking to bring environmental learning into the classroom with confidence
