Alex joined the BCB in 2022, after finishing her MA Ceramics programme at Staffordshire University. She was first introduced to the BCB when she visited the 2021 festival as part of that same course. Alex worked closely with the Communications and Marketing team at Staffordshire University as a Student Communications Ambassador. She made videos and posted content about her experience as an international student, as well as co hosting the first season of the Student Connect Podcast. Moving to the UK from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA for her programme she shared her insights on moving, studying, and working in a new country with new and potential students.
Joining the BCB as the Communications Assistant, she can bring together her lifetime love of ceramics with new found experiences in communications, and help create content for BCB’s website and social media platforms.
Alex has a BFA in Crafts with an emphasis on ceramics from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan, USA, and received her MA in Ceramics from Staffordshire University. She has exhibited at World of Wedgwood as part of the Extraction Paradigm project on sustainability in ceramics, and at the London Design Festival as part of the Class of ’22 exhibition.
