Jane Perryman

Jane Perryman works as an artist and writer. After graduating from Hornsey College of Art, she spent a year at Keramisch Werkcentrum Holland funded by the British Council.  She exhibits internationally and her work is represented in many museums and collections. Her books have been published in the UK, US and India and translated into German and French.

Jane views her work as a process of creative documentation, exploring themes of time, place and chance through sequential forms. She’s worked as a writer and photographer (A&C Black / Bloomsbury Smoke Fired Pottery 1995, Traditional Pottery of India 2000, Naked Clay 2004, Smoke Firing Contemporary Artists & Approaches 2008) and a ceramicist making one-off works. Over time, the separate elements of her practise developed into multi-media installations encompassing ceramics, text, photography, drawing and sound (in collaboration with composer Kevin Flanagan).
