Rhiannon Ewing James

Rhiannon joined the BCB in 2017 as Creative Producer where she has the opportunity to do her favourite thing, work with people. Rhiannon works on the exhibitions programme on a festival year supporting artists and she has the wonderful opportunity to work on year-round programming with her talented and knowledgeable colleagues.

As well as having the pleasure of working creatively within her role at BCB Rhiannon is an artist and epic clay nerd with a degree in Contemporary Applied Arts from Ulster University, Belfast. Her artwork and research explores the significance place and material have on the development of creative practice. Rhiannon’s past experience includes working as Studio Co-ordinator at Guldagergaard International Ceramic Research Centre, Denmark and later Project Officer at Craft Northern Ireland. Continuing to exhibit widely, she also loves to write, share ideas and hold conversations with people about contemporary ceramic practice.

“I’m looking forward to getting back onto the former Spode Works site, working with and supporting the wide and wonderful range of artists for this years festival and of course my festival highlights always include having the excuse to talk with as many visitors as possible sharing about the artists, artworks and exhibitions.”
