Generation project – Our House
Join the BCB Generation project at Middleport Pottery as we explore what it means to live in Stoke-on-Trent.
In the Generation project – Our House workshop, we will have a discussion about our connection with Stoke and what gives us a sense of belonging. We will then design and create a building out of clay using those ideas, and follow everything up with a delicious lunch.
Who is this for?
This workshop is open to teenagers and young adults aged 16-25. It’s suitable for all abilities.
When?
10:30am-3pm, Saturday 11 February 2023
Where?
Middleport Pottery, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent ST6 3PE
What will I do?
We’ll start with an open conversation about what it is like to live, work, learn and socialise in Stoke-on-Trent and identify the things which make you feel like you belong. This will evolve into designing a house or building which we will make out of clay. We will provide templates that you can adapt your own ideas.
All clay materials and tools are provided. All the work will be fired in the BCB studio and finished with a clear glaze. We can post your work out to you, or you can pick it up from the BCB studio at Spode Works.
After the workshop, lunch and refreshments will be provided. GF/vegetarian/vegan will be available, but if anyone has any allergies or other dietary requirements, please contact emma@britishceramicsbiennial.com ahead of the event.
How do I book?
