Material Re-use and Viability (In-person)
In a world with diminishing natural resources artists, makers and designers are finding new sources of materials.
Material Re-use and Viability
This talk will focus on how construction waste can be used by creatives in a carbon-responsible way.
Grace Williams of Loom Projects will chair a discussion with artists and designers Tom James, Victor Pedrosa, Sahara Fagan-Michaelson and Pati Starzykowski. All of whom work closely with the Re-Made in Park Royal material exchange hub and have worked on various projects using waste clay excavated during the construction of the HS2 station Old Oak Common. The British Ceramics Biennial’s Tactile Project Space also uses waste clay from Old Oak Common station to engage the public in a clay-making activity that will produce unfired clay tiles that will become a bed for a small wildflower meadow in Stoke-on-Trent.
This talk is supported by Potterycrafts.
