Artist Talk Recorded talk

During the 2025 British Ceramic Biennial, visitors had the chance to meet and hear from some of the talented artists exhibiting. The Artist Talks provide a unique insight into the work and careers of some of the artists and the work they have created especially for the 2025 Biennial.

Daphne’s Threshold by Charlotte Moore

Charlotte’s work for Award 2025 addresses wildfires in the Tamar Valley, where she grew up, which have caused rapid changes in biodiversity. A ceramic gateway shows an archive of the current plant life, along with a prediction of future growth.

About the Artist

Charlotte Moore is a London-based artist from Cornwall, UK. Growing up in the Tamar Valley, a landscape shaped by mining and agriculture, has directly informed her practice.

Her work examines how human activity drives botanical shifts, focusing on how local plant communities reclaim landscapes and architectures. Trained in architecture and working with ceramics, she blends spatial, collaborative and site-specific tools with research practices to reintroduce narrative, ecology and ornamentation into our built environment.
