Our Time, Our Place, Our Heritage
British Ceramics Biennial (BCB), in partnership with Stoke Creates, is seeking an experienced Creative Youth Engagement Worker. This role will support the delivery of Our Time, Our Place, Our Heritage, which is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. This project will focus on safeguarding Stoke-on-Trent’s endangered industrial ceramic hand-skills.
This intergenerational project brings together Living Heritage Heroes (skilled ceramic practitioners aged 65+) and young people aged 16–25. Together they will explore, document and re-imagine the city’s ceramic heritage, culminating in a Clay Manifesto, public exhibition, film and civic celebration.
About the role
The Creative Youth Engagement Worker will play a central, hands-on role in recruiting, supporting and working with a diverse group of young people. You will help ensure young participants feel confident, welcomed and meaningfully involved throughout the project, while also working closely with artists, heritage specialists and project partners.
The role is hosted and line-managed by British Ceramics Biennial as part of the wider Project Team.
