From Waste to Resource Conference – Innovation: BC Materials, Belgium
Originally recorded 2 October 2025
Guest Speaker: Ken de Cooman
BC Materials transforms excavated earth from urban construction sites into circular, local clay building materials, such as compressed earth bricks, clay plasters, and rammed earth. These materials are CO2-neutral, provide a healthy indoor climate, and are characterised by a highly energy-efficient and local production process. After use, they can be returned to the soil or transformed again into building materials in an infinite circular process.
Next in the conference schedule: Playscape and Closing Remarks, Sarah Fraser, Claire Baily
Start from the beginning: Welcome, Clare Wood
