Applications for FRESH 2019 are OPEN!

Applications for FRESH 2019 are open!

Artists are invited to apply for the FRESH, one of the main exhibitions in the British Ceramics Biennial, which takes place in Stoke-on-Trent from 7 September to 13 October 2019. BCB provides a platform for some of the UK’s most talented artists working in clay and 2019 marks its 10th anniversary.

A maximum of 25 artists’ work will be included in the final exhibition and all applicants must be UK graduates from November 2017- 2019 higher education, Diploma and HND (Higher National Diploma) programmes.

Awards will be given to two selected FRESH exhibitors: a one-month funded residency at Guldagergaard International Ceramics Research Centre in Denmark in 2020 and a one-month residency with BCB, also in 2020.

‘FRESH provides a unique platform for recent graduates to exhibit their work at the BCB festival alongside a range of established artists and designers. It showcases the diverse cross-section of ideas and trends currently explored within clay and ceramics practice and offers opportunities for emerging artists to forge new networks both nationally and internationally as they launch their professional careers.’

Neil Brownsword

Artist and Professor of Ceramics, Staffordshire University.

The deadline for application is midnight on 10 July 2019.
