Digging Deep: Stories in Clay with Zeba Imam
Explore clay and slip, using marks and colour, to create a ceramic piece that tells a story. Your piece will be fired and glazed, and available for collection, 2 -3 weeks after the workshop.
In this three-hour workshop you will:
- Find out more about Zeba Imam’s work, her ideas and how she makes her pieces
- Experiment with techniques including slip decoration and sgraffito
- Handbuild and decorate a ceramic piece
My work is inspired by the marks of human activity all around us. Bustling cityscapes, old and new jostling for space, timeworn aspects of an industrial building, casual graffiti… They convey the universal human wish to be seen and to communicate: “I am/was here”. – Zeba Imam
Digging Deep is part of the Crafts Council’s Make! Craft! Live! celebration. Make! Craft!
