Good images of your work are essential for creating a portfolio which stands out.

Learn about ways of documenting your work which tell a story and give people an insight into your processes. The session covers:

  • Practical advice on adjusting camera settings
  • Lighting
  • Setting the scene to provide context
  • Producing high quality images of your work

There will also be opportunities to ask Jenny Harper and Ben Farr specific questions and share with other practitioners.

 

Who is this session for?

This session is for anyone looking to create a portfolio of their work. It will also be useful for artists applying to the British Ceramics Biennial’s Fresh exhibition.

 

Who’s delivering?

Jenny Harper, Documentary Photographer & Co-Director at Urban Wilderness CIC

Jenny Harper is a documentary photographer from Stoke-on-Trent.  She has documented events and projects since 2014 and her clients include Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, Keele University, Middleport Pottery, BCB, Restoke and Appetite. Jenny is also a co-director of Urban Wilderness, a community interest company with a mission to democratise public spaces through arts and culture.

 

Ben Farr, Creative Director & Photographer at Ifsobczwhy

Ifsobczwhy are a fiercely independent, multidimensional photography studio, situated in an old industrial pottery factory, built in 1767. They specialise in creative content for e-commerce, fashion, lifestyle, food and drink brands.
