Studio
The BCB Studio is a space to work with clay, based in the heart of Stoke on Trent at Spode Works.
It is a place to meet others, learn and share skills. It is somewhere you can develop your creativity and nurture your wellbeing. It is a clay community in the heart of the ceramic city.
Here you can access making opportunities, whatever your level of experience.
Beginners
We host adult learning courses and family ‘Clay Together’ sessions for beginners. These are artist-led sessions, with step-by-step guidance through a making activity.
Next steps
Studio membership is available for those who feel confident to work independently. The studio and its facilities are open to members on Mondays and Thursdays each week.
A firing service is available for makers who create their work at home or from another studio.
Making together
We love what happens when people come together and work with clay on group projects. There are regular opportunities to do this throughout the year. This year we are working on a project called Stoke Makes Plates.
Clay Comrades
Our regular studio members have formed an artist collective called ‘Clay Comrades.’ They work together on fun and creative projects and commissions.
The Studio programme is kindly supported by Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s Community Investment Fund.
